Alert! Your Account Can Hijacked Twitter Employees

The drama on Twitter seems endless after being owned by billionaire Elon Musk. According to a recent report, Twitter employees can upload tweets from user accounts.

A complaint about this issue was filed with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in October 2022. The system, allegedly renamed to 'privileged mode', is said to still be on the Twitter engineer's laptop.

Former employees claim each engineer still has access to an internal program called "GodMode". Gizmochina said it seemed that the system only needed computer production and a simple code change from False to True, quoted on Thursday (26/1/2023).

In 2020, Twitter was also rocked by a platform security scandal. At that time, teenage crypto scammers managed to break into the company's internal systems and upload fake tweets from accounts belonging to well-known figures from Presidents Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Elon Musk.

It's been reported that the file was reopened after recent complaints regarding the ability of engineers to delete or restore anyone's tweets. According to the latest reports, there is no record of which account was tampered with or who did it. Currently, the FTC is said to have interviewed former employees regarding this matter.

Since control of the company was held by Elon Musk, Twitter has not been without many problems. Including companies that are starting to be abandoned by their advertisers.

According to a Pathmatics report, 14 of Twitter's top 30 advertisers have stopped all their ads. This happened after Musk bought Twitter stock. Meanwhile, 4 advertisers cut their spending in the range of 92% to 98.7% from the week before the acquisition to the end of last year.
